The memorable evening will take place at the Russian Information and Cultural Center in Baku on October 4, 2019. It is dedicated to friendship between Sergei Yesenin and Stepan Erzia in Azerbaijan in 1924-1925.
The theme of creative communication between two outstanding figures of Russian culture is still little- known to admirers of their talents. We are pleased to highlight this topic in the context of the new Russian-Azerbaijan historical and cultural project ” Baku Remembes Erzia!” dedicated to the 145th anniversary of S. Erzia birth. The life and work of Yesenin and Erzia were closely connected with Baku in 1923-1925.
The history of friendship between S.Yesenin and S.Erzia has already been presented in the exhibition project “Beloved Russia and Mordovia!” This project took place at the State Museum-Reserve of S.Yesenin in the poet’s homeland in the village of Konstantinovo in 2016.
The Baku evening program includes a story about the meetings of the poet and the sculptor in Baku as well as their travels in Azerbaijan. For the first time the guests will see the publicistic film “Beloved Russia and Mordovia!” (State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Mordovia, 1995) about S.Yesenin and S.Erzia. They will also get acquainted with the work of young students of the Russian Information and Cultural Center in Baku. They became interested in a new and unexplored topic about the history of their native land.
The event was organized by the Russian Information and Cultural Center in Baku in cooperation with Erzia International Art Foundation (Moscow)
The memorable evening will take place at 3pm in Baku, Hajaly Avenue, 20
