The long-awaited opening of the cultural centre “Erzya centre” in Moscow will be taking place on the 30th of November. It’s timed to the 145th anniversary of the birth of Stepan Erzya.
The new art space is located in a historic building (dated 1934) at 1, Avtozavodskaya str. Large-scale restoration work of the future centre was carried out throughout the year.
The permanent exposition of the center will consist of unique casts of works of Stepan Erzya. Their originals are in private Russian and foreign collections, so the casts play the important role in the popularization and preservation of Erzya’s artistic heritage.
Also, the guests of the centre will have a chance to see unique bibliographic materials, archival documents, and photographs that will be interesting not only to the admirers of Erzya but also to all art lovers.
In addition, “Erzya centre” will host temporary exhibitions, lectures, master classes, and concerts.
The first season will be marked by the celebration of the 145th anniversary of the birth of Stepan Erzya and will be accompanied by a large-scale public program.
