A memorial table to FSB Major General Alexander Novikov was unveiled in Saransk.
The memory of Mordovia outstanding native was immortalized in his native school number 25. Friends and relatives and also Vesti film crew was invited to the ceremony.
The younger generation listens with a special sense of pride about the FSB Major General at the opening ceremony of the commemorative plaque. He was the best among classmates, he was a diligent and responsible student for teachers, he was a reliable and devoted friend.
In 1983 Alexander Novikov was invited to the state security organization. He started his career as an employee, then held various leadership positions in the FSB department in the village of Yavas, Republic of Mordovia.
Novikov’s merits were appreciated and he was invited to serve in Moscow. He worked to maintain peace and security in the North Caucasus. In 1996 he was promoted to major general. In 1998 Alexander Novikov created the Sura Foundation for Assistance to State Security Employees and Veterans and was its permanent leader.
In 2009 the retired Alexander Novikov died after a long illness.
Friends and colleagues of Alexander Novikov decided to make a commemorative plaque.
The teachers of the 25th school of Saransk are sure that Major General Novikov will become a symbol of true patriotism for the cadets. Perhaps one of these guys will become a reliable shield for the state security service.
