He walked in step with a smile. In memory of Vladimir Sobkin

November 17, 2020, Lieutenant General First Deputy Director of the FSO Vladimir Sobkin died. This is a huge loss for family, friends and for the whole Russia. Vladimir Sobkin was cheerful, energetic and always ready to help. He had a bright and eventful life. He was a loyal friend, a family man, a brave officer, an honest and decent man.

Vladimir Sobkin was born on February 4, 1953 in Ukraine. After the army in 1973 Sobkin entered the Higher School of the KGB under the Council of Ministers of the USSR. In 1978 he was recruited into the 9th Directorate of the KGB of the USSR. He supervised the security of the first persons of the state, was directly involved in the preparation of visits and other international events with the participation of the first persons of the Russian Federation and foreign states. He defended the constitutional rights of citizens during the armed conflict in the Republic of Tajikistan. In 2002, Vladimir Sobkin retired with the rank of lieutenant general. However, he continued to have an active life – he held the position of advisor to the President of the Management Board of PJSC VTB, was vice president of TB-Invest LLC and vice president of the S.D. Erzya.

… Vladimir Nikolaevich Sobkin left us, but a good memory of him remains.
